THE HOLIDAY ART SALE
(also known as THE BLOCK STREET ART SALE)

*The 14th Annual Block Street Art Sale *December 2014*

Photographer Don House had the holiday blues back in 2001.  To shake them off and create a sense of community for himself, he hosted an open house at his studio in Elkins, inviting a handful of friends to display their work.  The group had so much fun that they repeated the show the following year.  A tradition was born.

With the show’s success came more artists and a move to a larger venue at the Fayetteville home of Mike Shirkey’s GoodFolk Productions.  Taking a cue from its street address, the group eventually began calling itself the Block Street Art Sale.  After twelve wonderful years as The Block Street Art Sale it was time for 2013’s news.  We officially changed our name to The Holiday Art Sale.

It looks like good news is in sight for 2014 as we gather forces and prepare to regroup to bring you the show you have grown comfortable with for all these years.  How about a return to the more laid back and homey atmosphere which drew you to us in the first place?  Stay tuned more to come friends.
